Too Loud by Ihssane Nejjari

Love's Shadow by Frederick Sandys (1867)

 Too loud,
Too much of an opinion, I vowed.
Simply because I no longer thought
That if you were gold, I would be the rust of the melting pot.
That if we were in a movie,
I would be the beast, and you would be the beauty,
Not because I have an ugly preface
But because your unorganized pages have turned love poems into tales of cuss
But one day, the sun rose from its dawn
And the dew softly landed on the mawn,
And I realized that beauty was not a blush and a loose powder
It was actually an identity matter.
All along, I knew what beauty was,
And for me, it was speaking my truths
Not spitting lies because they said it soothes
Sticking to my values, and radiating my identity,
Celebrating every little thing with a bravo and a solo-party
With no fears,
And instead plenty of inner-cheers.
They say I am too loud,
And if loud means quieting voices which deserve to be unvoiced, then I am loud.
Too loud
